For most of our courses and tours, Jotnar Mountaineering provides all the necessary technical equipment, including crampons, ice axes, harnesses, and helmets. We recommend that participants bring appropriate outdoor clothing, sturdy boots, and personal items such as water bottles and snacks. Specific gear requirements will be detailed in your booking confirmation.
If you cancel your booking with at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled departure time, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are non-refundable. For operator-initiated cancellations due to weather or safety concerns, you will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
Yes, all of our guides are highly experienced and certified in mountaineering, climbing, and glacier travel according to AIMG training program. They are also trained in first aid and safety following NOLS protocols (WFR) to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants.
The physical demands vary depending on the course or tour and depends also on the season. While some of our beginner courses are suitable for individuals with moderate fitness levels, advanced courses and summit expeditions may require a higher level of physical conditioning. We recommend reviewing the course and tour descriptions and consulting with our team if you have any concerns about your fitness level.
Levels 1-2/5 are for most of the people but still require you able to be active for about 3h and can walk on uneven terrain such off trail and glaciers.
Level 3/5 tours start to be technical and more demanding involving some climbing. Would be better you are use do train in some activity/sports or hike regularly on weekly base.
Level 4-5/5 tours requires a higher level of fitness. They might be long or challenging, require some training beforehand. If summit trips they can be up to 16h long and 2000m/6000ft elevation gain
